Welcome to Mitoto Cafe, a delightful hidden gem situated in the vibrant Pintas Square of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This charming cafe is not only a feast for your taste buds but also offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes it perfect for casual hangouts or intimate lunch dates.

As you step inside, you're greeted by a bright, contemporary decor that speaks to the youthfulness of the space. The cleanliness and pleasant ambiance create a relaxed vibe, ideal for unwinding after a long day or catching up with friends. With air conditioning providing a welcome respite from the tropical heat, Mitoto Cafe is a cozy retreat you won't want to miss.

The menu at Mitoto Cafe is a delightful mix that caters to diverse palates, with a focus on local Malaysian cuisine. Signature dishes like the Nasi Lemak—a traditional favorite—have received praise from patrons for their authenticity and delicious flavors. One reviewer, Nolan Rasiah, highlighted how it was a fantastic discovery during his visit, noting the friendly service and the bright, youthful decor that enhanced his dining experience.

If you're in the mood for something sweet, don't miss their popular bingsu, which comes highly recommended. Customer Ping Chan couldn't get enough of their bingsu and chicken puff rice, deeming them "very affordable yet yummy." The peppermint bingsu, while enticing initially, sparked mixed reviews, especially with the optional milk pairing that some found discordant; nevertheless, the charm of the bingsu is undeniable on those hot Kota Kinabalu days.

The prices at Mitoto Cafe are notably reasonable, making it a solid choice for anyone looking to enjoy delicious, budget-friendly meals. However, it's worth mentioning that the beverage selection is somewhat limited, as pointed out by our friend Gaming Boo, who noted the absence of options like Coffee O or Chinese Tea. This highlights an opportunity for the cafe to expand its offerings and cater to a wider range of beverage preferences.

Overall, Mitoto Cafe delivers a lovely dining experience, combining great food, friendly service, and a pleasant environment—all at a value that is hard to beat in the area. Whether you're craving traditional dishes or something sweet to cool you down, this cafe is poised to become your go-to spot in Penampang. So why not stop by and indulge in the flavors of Sabah? Your taste buds will thank you!

1. Taste: 4/5 2. Presentation: 4/5 3. Portion size: 4/5 4 Temperature: 4/5 5. Service: 4/5 6. Value for money: 4/5 7. Overall: 4/5 A restaurant with ac is always a bonus n the place looks nice n clean. Had the the rendang signature dish n it was so so, not the kind of rendang taste u usually get in kk but thn i think its an indon style rendang. My 1st impression very little rendang. Its 22 bucks n the other side dish was good n complaint, overall well balanced meal only very little rendang. Wen u advertise rendang as the main dish thn at least 35% of the plate shld b rendang. Soup0 not provided n thy only hv 1 type of soup at rm2 a pop, i want to cry. Its a simple soup taste but i need soup w my rice. Chicken was good but it had blood as u dick deeper n the wife had it sent bck for recooking, i on the other hand wld hv just continued eating the dam thing. The 5spice roll is probably the only dish I actually tot was good, again, at rm13 it was expensive. Teh tarik w reduce sugar was so sweet I cannot imagine wat it wld taste like normal. Thy hv other things on the menu but frm wat i had it was at best just ok.

The food prices are reasonable, but there's a limited variety of beverages. Unfortunately, they don't offer options like Coffee O or Chinese Tea. Ordering online can be a bit challenging for those unfamiliar with the process, especially through scanning barcodes.

The atmosphere is great and quiet, not crowded, making it suitable for hanging out. The peppermint bingsu tastes great on the first and second bites but goes downhill after that. The optional milk(?) provided doesn't match well with the peppermint taste.

First time we came to this restaurant. After looking through their rice and noodles menu, we decided to settle for their nasi lemak instead. Turned out that their nasi lemak menu was the latest addition to their original rice and noodles menus. The ambience of this place looks bright and kind of set up for young people. Nevertheless, the place was neat. The staff were friendly and courteous. Parking is plentiful. It looks like there is not much vehicle traffic in this corner of the shops. I guess that would be good for this restaurant as there would be ample parking available. No parking tickets required. My only grouse here was the presence of flies. The shop is air-conditioned so I simply don't understand where the flies came from. It was not a lot of flies but there was enough to make me unhappy. And it didn't help that one of the dishes we ordered had sotong in it. Other than the flies causing a little discomfort, I'm actually quite pleased with this restaurant and the food served. Will need to come back and try their other offerings.
